Hey Everyone,

I am getting ready to head down to Vic's and wanted to check in. Shawn is finishing up the last few songs with drums and all next week I will be starting on rhythm guitars. This is very cool stuff, learning Dave’s rhythmic style can be a challenge but is one that I look forward to.

We are on the last day or so of drum tracks, and barring the debacle at the top of the session, we have been able to maintain the typical Vic quality with the recording.

Chris Broderick has been coming down more and more and it really is starting to feel like a band again (sometimes it feels more like a session when we break after a tour and the time-lapse, before we feel like we are in stride again).

James, of course lives down here and has been working with me daily, and has been relentless in his work on this project and the additional stuff that we have been doing for the last few months.

I expect James AND Chris to start playing within the next day or so, as well as myself, and I am really excited about going to the NAMM, and after that, there is just the rehearsals and the flights and we are once again ... On the Killing Road.

I have just determined whilst listenening down to the songs that I have miscounted and we don't have the 13 that I thought we had, and that we only have 12 songs.

I guess we had one song written down under two different names, and what a let-down. Either way, I was thrashing to this new stuff, and except the songs that are intentionally slower in certain parts, this is a rather jaunty little record.

We are just about ready to send Shawn home from doing his drum tracks, which means in real fuzzy math, that we are almost 25% done with the recordings. Now we just need to continue to structure the songs for lyrics, and solos and we are done!

Please keep your fingers crossed that we will be able to get this sucker in the pipeline at Roadrunner before we leave for Priest Feast!

Until then, I am going to working my ass off.

I leave for the airport in a few hours, to which I am happy to have 100% completed these 12 new songs for the next Megadeth record - I am really excited on how they turned out both from a performance and a sonic standpoint, so now I can just spend a few quality weeks at home with my family before we once again head out for the Killing Road.

I am certain that Chris is chomping at the bit to start his tracks, as is both James and Dave. I am sure they will sort out "Who" is next in line to begin their tracks, and I hope they have as much fun as I did. Big kudos to Andy Sneap for calm guidance and tons of laughter during these recording's, and to all who lent a hand in making Vic's Garage what it now is - A very comfortable and beautiful recording facility.

Yeah, I'm NAMM 'd out too, F**K it... so on to Thursday at old Vic's.

Both yesterday and today Dave's been in early, laying down his Rhythms and tightening up arrangements. Yesterday also saw the triumphant return of Chris "No Riff is out of my league" Broderick. Dave and Chris's guitars sound particularly angry together, I'm digging the way this is going down. Last night I was able to track my first bass part and I'm really pleased with the way it's sounding. I'm really impressed with Andy's keen sonic sense, he's really got everything cranking (I think it's spelled "Kranking" these days) I can't wait for you all to hear it... I hear my name being called... got to jam... Later.

The above formula is based off of some fractions and the amount of work to be done still. See of you can stick with me on the way.

Shawn is indeed done and back in Atlanta, 12/12.

We are working on rhythms; I had three, as well as Chris that was finished, and James got two finished. I have nine left, as well as Chris and James has 10. [I was told to use the digits when writing after the number nine.]

The vocals, solos, BGVs, Keyboards, effects, mixes and mastering are still left to do.

We will keep you posted, but I doubt we are going to have this done in time.

It wasn't for lack of trying my lovely Droogs. We have all sat around and been ready and waiting for our turn at the recording process only to have Murphy's Law interrupt us: with an interview, a photo shoot, a mix of a live DVD, some recording on the Static-X record, doing work on the private stuff that Andy has backed up around his neck (hehehe) and various other chat room or fan club interviews. I get there every morning and wait, Andy has been a good sport about all of the parts and working while we are getting everything lining up, James has been there a lot of the times and has been working on archive stuff, Chris has been down almost daily now going over songs with me, and we are just getting fired up!!!

I have to hop off of the computer because it is needed by someone.

What a great freaking day, . . . stay metal, or die trying!!!

Just finished my last set of bass tracks Last night. I'm really pleased and excited for you all to hear the new stuff. At this stage, it's very cool with an old school kind of "thrash-y" vibe. Some of it calls to the old Megadeth style, which is cool and some of it is just plain HEAVY! Dave's guitar is sounding mean and when I left yesterday, Chris was just fixin' to put in some leads...

That's it for now, gotta pack for the Priest Feast.
